Facebook And Twitter In China!

The Chinese government has quietly partly unblocked local internet access to Facebook and Twitter, the world’s two largest real-time social media networks – particularly in places popular among foreigners.

Internet users in big mainland cities including Shanghai and Beijing have recently told the South China Morning Post that they found they can easily get access to Facebook and Twitter in many five-star hotels, using their mobile phones in the hotel lobby where usually free Wi-fi service is provided, or using laptops connected to high-speed broadband in hotel rooms.

For example, one visitor to Beijing, who wished to remain anonymous, told the Post that he could easily use his mobile devices and laptop to access both Facebook and Twitter at the lobby of the St. Regis Beijing hotel and in his room during his stay in the hotel, which had often been the home to many US presidents during their visits to China.
